About Your Storage Agreement
We are delighted that you have
chosen to store your property at H. A. Properties. To make sure you understand
the terms of your storage agreement, we have compiled a list of commonly asked
questions and answers.
 | Can I pay in advance? Yes! Even though your
contract is on a month-to-month basis, you may pay in advance for as many
months as you would like. Your prepayment is added as a credit to your
account. This option is useful if you are a snowbird or just don’t like
writing a lot of checks! |
 | If I pay in advance and don’t use the storage, can I
get my money back? Yes! Because our contracts are month-to-month, you can
cancel your contract at any time. You will be charged your monthly fee during
the month of your cancellation, but will receive a full refund for prepayment
made beyond that month. |
 | Will I receive a monthly statement? No. We do
not bill or send out statements. In this regard, your storage space is just
like renting an apartment. You mail or drop off your rent on or before the
first of every month and receive no statement. If you would like a receipt,
however, we can provide you with one upon request. |
 | Do you prorate the first month? Yes. For the
first month, your bill is prorated. For example, if you start on the 15th
of the month, you would only pay half of the monthly fee for that first
month. For the remaining months, however, you must pay the total monthly fee. |
 | What do I have to do when I no longer want to store
my property with you? To end your contract, you must notify us in writing
or inform one of our Property Managers. To do so, you may send an email, a
letter, call, or inform us in-person. If you do not inform us that you are no
longer using your space, your contract is automatically renewed and you will
be responsible for the rent on the space. |
 | What if I don’t need to store my property for the
whole month? Storage contracts are for 1-month periods. Even if your
property is not in your space, you are responsible for the full month, as per
the storage agreement. |
 | What happens if I don’t pay on time? If your
payment is more than 10 days late, you are charged a $10 fee for each month
your payment is late. During the delinquent period, if your property is not
in its space and you have not paid, your space may be rented out to somebody
else. If, after 30 days, your property is still in its space and you have not
paid, a lien will be placed on your property for the amount due, and your
property may be sold to recoup your unpaid rent. |
